We believe that things could be better for women and their families...

The UCL Elizabeth Garrett Anderson Institute for Women’s Health is a joint venture between two world-renowned institutions – University College London (UCL) and University College Hospital (UCH).

The Institute was established with the objective of making a major contribution to the health of women, both in the UK and internationally, by pioneering research, education programmes and clinical initiatives.

The Institute team is a team of internationally renowned researchers, innovators in education and training, and leading experts in all aspects of women’s health, including doctors, nurses, surgeons, psychologists, sociologists, geneticists and laboratory scientists. The team is based at the University College Campus in central London.

Cohesion and a more holistic approach

The Institute will make it possible to bring together individuals with expertise across the whole spectrum of women’s health – from laboratory science to clinical skills and social and behavioural sciences.

Good medical care balances quality of life with physical wellbeing. The Institute will tackle women’s health issues from childhood to puberty, motherhood to menopause, maturity to old age by adopting a broader and more holistic approach to medicine that combines the health of the body with the health of the mind.
